Norway: Fellesforbundet concluded a new successful collective agreement for the building workers

Fellesforbundet and the Norwegian employer counterpart, BNL, concluded a new collective agreement for the building industries for the coming two years. The agreement builds on the objectives reached in the frontrunner agreement - engineering/metal, textiles -, and includes some specific achievements for construction.

Among the main results:

  • Two weeks of paid paternal leave after birth
  • Hired workforce guaranteed the same wages and working conditions as workers in the host company and will be covered by Fellesforbundet collective agreements
  • General wage increase 1.25 NOK
  • Minimum wages in the building industry are increased considerably
  • Minimum wage increased to NOK 152.50 per hour for those employed more than one year
  • Minimum wage for newcomers NOK 150 per hour
  • Addition for skilled workers NOK 9,25
  • Increases in shift premiums
  • Agreement on less government interference in system of general applicability.
