Brazil: tribute to migrant construction workers
On December 11th 2016, nearly 500 construction workers of Haitian nationality were honored by the Trade Union of Workers in the Civil Construction of Porto Alegre (STICC-POA).
Through a typical Haitian lunch and prize draw, STICC-POA provided a space of solidarity support to the civil construction workers affiliated to its organization. 2016 is the second year in which STICC-POA carries out this type of festivities with the aim of providing to migrants a space of exchange and camaraderie. Gelson Santana, President of STICC, spoke about migrant workers saying: "We want them to reflect on their strength and to understand that they can build a new reality for their lives".
A better and more equitable world is everyone's responsibility!
