As a result of the workshop each of the INTERGREMIAL unions developed work plans that focused on organizing young workers and women workers to strengthen their respective unions and INTERGREMIAL as a whole. In addition to the union’s work plan, one national plan overseeing INTEGREMIAL was also developed and it will be presented the leadership for adoption later this year. Since the representatives of the unions present are part of different national centers in Colombia, the workshop as a rippling affect for the overall Colombian trade union movement.

The INTERGREMIAL represents a group of ten unions in the construction, construction materials and wood industry in Colombia. These unions made the decision to unify into one structure in order to strengthen the union’s sector in this country. The unification step was completed with the official request for affiliation to BWI. Their affiliation was approved the BWI World Council in Brighton, United Kingdom, in May 2019.
