Today the Central Union of Painters, Plumbers, Electrician and Construction Workers (CUPPEC) started its 6th National Congress in Kathmandu with the theme: Decent Employment and Safe Workplace.
Attended by more than 1,200 delegates and guests, the event started with rally celebrating the passage of new labor laws and social security. The Swedish Painters Union, Korean Federation of Construction Industry Trade Union, Construction and Allied Workers Union (CAWUN) and All Nepal Construction Workers Union attended the event.
BWI General Secretary Ambet Yuson expressed international solidarity greetings to the Congress, noting his admiration for CUPPEC's innovative organising approaches and their resilience in effectively responding to the 2015 Earthquake.
