The BWI-affiliated Russian Timber Workers Union (RTWU) held the second phase of its 7th Congress last 23-24 April. The union adopted a resolution expressing its commitment to support the call to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to recognise healthy and safe workplaces as a fundamental right.

BWI's Belgian affiliates ACV- BiE and FGTBB secured the commitment of Belgium's employers' association through a joint declaration recognising the importance of workplace health and safety, and the need for the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to declare it as a fundamental right of all workers. The declaration covers 25,000 companies and more than 250,000 workers.
