The Korean Federation of Construction Industry Trade Union (KFCITU) released a video highlighting problems in the construction of projects leading up to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. The video addresses issues of delayed payment of wages to construction workers, occupational safety and health violations leading to at least four fatalities, and exploitation of migrant workers.
The video was released to the general public and mass media earlier this month, and the English version was released when BWI General Secretary Ambet Yuson recently visited South Korea to discuss with the union concrete measures to find a solution to the on-going problems in PyeongChang.
