For the first time in Macedonia, green jobs and workers who promote the struggle for ecology and a healthy environment are regulated by the collective agreement of the National Park Galicica, Ohrid. The agreement was signed by the Trade Union of Forestry, Wood Industry and Energy of the Republic of Macedonia (SSHDE) on 4 July 2017.
The National Park Galichica, located in the southwestern part of the Republic of Macedonia, covers parts of the mountain range Galicica, with the coastal areas of the Ohrid and Prespa Lakes. The highest peak Magaro is located at 2.254 meters. It became a national park in 1958.
The agreement clearly confirms the legitimacy of the union as a social partner. It sets out the mutual rights and obligations, determines the position of the union and the relationship with the employer, determines appropriate assessment and analysis of relevant jobs, specifying wages and benefits, working hours, and other issues related to collective bargaining.
The collective agreement was signed by the management and the President of the National Institution Djuro Jovcevski, the President of SSHDE and President of CCM, PhD Zhivko Mitrevski. The signing was also attended by Stefan Blazhevski, presidency member of SSHDE and the Secretary of the Regional TUO Ohrid, Dragan Cvetkovski.
