The BWI-Indian Affiliates Council submitted on 19 May a petition to Indian President Ram Nath Kovind urging him to reject anti-labour ordinances passed by several states relaxing and/or suspending important labour laws for three years to boost productivity and incentivise industries during the COVID-19 economic slowdown.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is charged with many responsibilities. They include world heritage sites. One such site is the Angkor Archaeological Park in Cambodia. Restoration workers from the West Mebun temple have held a protest outside the office a French archaeological college – the École Française D’Extrême-Orient (EFEO) that previously employed them – regarding the UNESCO heritage Angkor Archaeological Park today, demanding an end to the almost two-year long impasse that has kept them away from their jobs.
