The National Union of Mine Workers (NUM) concluded its Special Congress on 3 – 6 September 2019 under the theme of “Power of Unity.” The Congress took place at the International Center of Durban and was attended by eight hundred delegates as well as local and international guests. BWI, a global union federation, that has been spearheading the fight for labour and human rights in mega-sporting events, is holding a conference entitled “Sports Campaigning in the 2020’s: Setting Strategies and Identifying Opportunities” from 18-19 September at the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Haus 1 located Hiroshimastraße 17 in Berlin, Germany.
