The Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2016 has informed the Building and Wood Workers‘ International (BWI) that they have partially incorporated the BWI OHS Protocol as their policies.
The document is part of the Campaign for Decent Work towards and Beyond 2016 and it was proposed to ensure improvements in the safety and health, and working conditions of the workers who are building the infrastructure for the Olympics Rio 2016. It was hand out to Sustainability Manager of the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee Ms. Tania Braga, during the Protocol Launch Ceremony that took place on March 27, 2015 in the city of Rio de Janeiro-RJ.
