The Progressive Trade Union Federation 47 (C-47), a BWI affiliated organisation in Suriname, is demanding the reinstatement of unionised workers and the release of their wages at the Greenheart Group N.V., a global company focused on wood harvesting, lumber-processing, marketing and sales and provision of timber and lumber products.

On October 14, for the first time, the Construction and Wood Workers Union and the Crane Operators' Organization signed special collective agreements with the management of the M.A. Kogan and Crane Operators of Ocean LTD. The agreements deal with workforce services in the field of crane operation.

Poland is the latest country visited by BWI and its “IKEA Workers’ Caravan of Stories,” a campaign to enable IKEA workers in different countries to share with one another their working lives and experiences. In an industrial factory in Zbaszynek, 3,400 workers produce furniture for IKEA. The said workers are organised by two trade unions, Budowlani and Solidarnosc, with the latter also doing organising work among IKEA retail workers. Read more...

Twenty-nine (29) workers of the Sumsel 1 PLTU, all members of the SERBUK PT GPEC have returned to work after they were sent home after their company stopped its operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
