Rulita Wijayaningdyah elected Chair of FSC Board

The BWI is very pleased to announce the election of Indonesian trade unionist Rulita Wijayaning-dyah as the new Chair of FSC International Board.

Known to BWI family as Litha, she was first elected as FSC Board member in 2013 representing Social South Chamber with very strong agenda on promoting workers rights in all spheres of FSC operations, particularly in certification standards.

"With her election as Chair as FSC Board, we are confident that she can steer FSC in its new heights in the realm of global certification systems reflective of its diverse constituents' interests", said Ambet Yuson, BWI General Secretary.

Litha started her involvement in the BWI as Project Coordinator in Indonesia in 1998 and was appointed Regional OSH Coordinator in 2001; and consequently rejoined her Union - KAHUTINDO being elected as National Treasurer in 2004 and its General Secretary in 2014. She's also directly in-volved in the development of Indonesia's standard development schemes.

"Given her vast experience in certification system and global experience on promotion and protec-tion of workers and trade rights exemplified by ILO Core Conventions, Litha will bring in new di-mension and perspective in the FSC Board. It will make it more vibrant, dynamic and responsive. We are too proud of her and wish her all the best on her new commanding role", concluded Ambet Yuson.
