Denouncement of the Recent Cairo’s Attack

The Building and Wood Workers’ International (BWI) and its affiliates, strongly condemn the recent attack that took place on December 11th 2016 on the Coptic Orthodox Church of Saint Mark. Around 25 innocent lives were taken because of the barbaric and brutal attacks, with many more injured and wounded. 

“The BWI has always, and will continue, to support the democratic rights and liberty of innocent people in general, and workers in specific. We have always taken pride in supporting workers and civilians in their struggle in the face of terrorism, vigilance, inhumanity and injustice. We will continue to work for the service and well-being of nationals across the globe and solemnly condemn the recent attack that took place in Cairo on December 11th 2016 and extend our grievance to the families that have lost lives to such barbaric attacks” said Ambet Yuson, BWI General Secretary. 

The BWI has long been present in Egypt and will continue to support its affiliates in Egypt through moral and practical support.
