The BWI strongly condemns the attack on Amran Cement Factory in Yemen

The Building and Woodworkers International (BWI) condemns the continues wave of attacks on Yemen. The recent traumatic events related to the Saudi attacks that destroyed the Omran Cement Factory and resulted in the death of 15 decent workers and 10’s have been injured while leaving the worksite heading back to their houses and children.

The Omran Cement Factory represents one of the most important foundations in construction development for Yemen and provides both direct and indirect work opportunities to hundreds of workers in this factory.

The BWI, further reiterates the importance of guaranteeing Yemeni nationals all the basic human rights, safe living and decent work opportunities.

The BWI family again stresses on the fact that its primary goal is towards the protection of its workers, regardless of age, gender, race or nationality, so as to provide equal jobs, dignity and safe life for all.
