The Countdown to the BWI Congress is on!
Exactly one year from now, the BWI family will convene to rally its membership in 365 unions in 116 countries to reach new heights of solidarity and unity in the fight for a more democratic, progressive and gender-equal world. We would like to thank the BWI Pan-Europe region and affiliates for hosting our Congress next year.
BWI's World Congress is its highest decision-making body. This is where its four-year goals, priorities and actions are decided. This is also where it elects its new leadership, which includes the World Council, the World Board, the President and the three Deputy Presidents, the General Secretary and Auditors.
Originally scheduled this year in Brazil, BWI's World Congress was postponed to 2022 to decisively shift its focus, time and energy to help its trade union affiliates address the multifaceted effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the enduring decent work deficit, and the existential threat of the climate crisis.
BWI calls on all its members, allies, partners and supporters to mark their calendars and save the said dates. Stay healthy and safe. We look forward to see all of you in Madrid, Spain. Vamos!
