BWI and EFBWW gather online for Ukraine

The Building and Woodworkers’ International (BWI) and the European Federation of Building and Woodworkers (EFBWW) held an online meeting to express their solidarity to Ukraine’s trade unions and workers, particularly to the Ukrainian Building Workers’ Union (PROFBUD), as they bravely and heroically face up to Russia’s military aggression and violence. 

Around 70 BWI and EFBWW members attended the event. They expressed their commitment  to continue to work together and mobilise trade union affiliates worldwide to further strengthen the international community’s voice against the invasion of Ukraine. BWI said that trade unions and workers have no stake in the wars waged by despots and expansionists. It said that only genuine peace and democracy can ensure the better lives of the working people of the world.
