International Workers' Memorial Day 2023 is annually observed on April 28. This year, BWI will highlight ways to put the right to safe and healthy workplaces into practice through the theme “MAKE IT HAPPEN.” This is an effort to celebrate and raise awareness on occupational health and safety (OSH) as a basic worker right.

Chile’s Ñuble, Bío Bío and La Araucanía regions are facing a severe crisis due to the large-scale forest fires in February that has damaged close to half a million hectares of plantations and native forests in the said areas, according to BWI’s Chilean affiliates FETRAMAS of MASISA and FENASID of ARAUCO.
