BWI Call for Action! Fists Up for the Planet!

To celebrate the 2024 International Youth Day on 12 August, BWI is calling on its affiliates, partners, and young workers to take action to spread the demand of the BWI Youth to fist up for the planet to build a liveable world! 

Please spread the BWI Youth’s global manifesto, calling for concrete actions and policies from governments, policy makers and employers in line with adopting new standards to achieve a zero-carbon future; and from unions to educate workers on climate justice and join the BWI campaign “Heat-Up Workers’ Rights, Not the Planet” 

In particular, the BWI calls on its affiliates, partners, and young members to do the following: 

1. Take a photo with our International Youth Day Posters and send it to the BWI regional staff and/or BWI Global Youth Coordinator Gulsah Doruk at gulsah.doruk@bwint.org or post it on your social media with hashtag #bwiyouth4future #IYD2024 so we can repost.

 2. Change your social media profile picture and/or cover photo with our action posters! 

3. Record a video message by shouting out to your demands around the action theme and send it to us or let us repost it by using hashtags #bwiyouth4future #IYD2024 

4. If your union will organise an event to celebrate the day, share any visuals and content to announce it. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any other ideas or questions.
