The Building and Wood Workers’ International (BWI) joins the Council of Global Unions (CGU) in condemning the Trump administration’s assault on federal employees and the elimination of the U.S. Department of Labor’s ILAB program.

Stripping over one million U.S. federal workers of their right to unionise and bargain collectively is blatant union-busting, while dismantling crucial funding of the ILAB, a key force in protecting workers’ rights across global supply chains, is a dangerous gift to exploitative regimes.

We will not stand by as fundamental freedoms are dismantled. The global trade union movement remains united, vigilant, and ready to fight back against all forces seeking to silence workers and destroy the labour movement.

An injury to one is an injury to all!
