The 2026 BWI Awards celebrate unions, organisations and individuals who are turning solidarity, courage and collective action into real gains for workers.

And now, the Jin Sook Lee Award is also open to champions of migrant workers’ rights, recognising the vital connection between migration, workers’ rights and BWI’s campaign for fair and safe mega sporting events.

🏆 JIN SOOK LEE AWARD – CHAMPIONING MIGRANT WORKERS’ RIGHTS

Migrant workers build our cities, infrastructure and communities, including the stadiums, venues and facilities that host the world’s biggest sporting events. Yet they too often face exploitation, discrimination, unsafe conditions, wage theft and barriers to organising.

This award recognises outstanding trade union action that organises migrant workers, defends their rights, improves their working and living conditions, and ensures that no worker is left behind.

It also recognises the vital work of unions and activists fighting for the rights of migrant workers behind mega sporting events because there can be no fair games without fair treatment for the workers who build them.

Nominate an organisation, individual or initiative that has made a real difference in defending and advancing migrant workers’ rights.

Let’s recognise those who organise, protect and stand with migrant workers and inspire others to do the same.
